A proposal that would block the implementation of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in the US has received the support of two more Congressmen.

Representatives Steve Cohen, a democrat from Tennessee, and Steven Rothman, a democrat from New Jersey, have added their names to the list of co-sponsors of Bill 5767, bringing the total number of signatures to 19.

Introduced to the United States House of Representatives early last month by Congressmen Barney Frank from Massachusetts and Ron Paul from Texas, the bill has been devised to lift the ban on financial institutions handling transactions between US residents and online poker and gaming operators.
