Betclic owner Banijay Gaming has reported an 18.2 per cent rise in Q1 revenue year-on-year to €381m, with unique active players up 33 per cent.

The company, part of Banijay Group, said its new poker platform in France in Q4 2024 and “effective cross-selling” between products were the key drivers of its performance.

Banijay also credited uptime during key sporting events as a pivotal factor.

Sportsbook revenue rose 19.5 per cent to €295.8, while online casino revenue climbed 9.3 per cent to €55.9m.

Poker revenue was up 25 per cent to €23.6m and turf revenue increased by 21.6 per cent to €5.5m.

Banijay Gaming’s adjusted EBITDA increased 20.9 per cent to €102.2m.

“Online sports betting and gaming delivered a very strong performance again in all markets and activities, with revenue up +18.2 per cent, with a 33 per cent increase in Unique Active Players, which is the key indicator in terms of commercial development,” said François Riahi, CEO of Banijay Group.

“The successful launch of a new proprietary poker app in Q4 2024 and effective cross-selling between products resulted in strong results from our poker business this quarter, and we expect to see continued momentum in this business line for the rest of the year.”
