The Supreme Court in New South Wales, Australia, has ruled that Lottoland Australia’s Jackpot Betting products are fully compliant with Australian law.

The company had challenged a ruling by the Australian Communications and Media Authority that its products were illegal. It considered that the service had breached the Interactive Gambling Act.

In a statement today, Lottoland’s CEO Luke Brill said: “We have always maintained that the ACMA’s view of our Jackpot Betting products is wrong, unfair and uncompetitive and I am pleased to say that we have been vindicated.

“With this matter now settled, Lottoland Australia can finally get on with what it does best – providing new and exciting products that Australian players love.”

The jackpot betting service involves betting on the outcome of selected financial markets. The ACMA felt that this was a game of chance.
