According to the Gaming Inspectorate's assessment, the provision of betting on events or events where predominantly players are under the age of 18 is a direct danger to minors being exposed to the influence of manipulating results, which in turn leads to negative consequences of gambling.

The regulator decided issued warnings and penalty fees against the following licensees: Betfair International (SEK5.5m); Bethard Group (SEK2.5m); The Casino Cabin (SEK3.5m); Electra Works (SEK5.5m) Hillside (Sports) ENC (SEK10m); Polar Limited (SEK0.7m); TSG Interactive (SEK10m); and Zecure Gaming (SEK3.5m).

In connection with the gaming inspection, the gaming companies have taken various measures to ensure that future betting takes place according to the game law, for example by not offering games on under-19 and under-21 series.

Spelinspektionen is working on producing regulations on prohibitions or restrictions on games or events in competitions, or other measures to combat manipulation of results in sports. The regulations are expected to enter into force at the beginning of next year.
