A new data centre has been opened by major network solutions provider Continent 8 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Continent 8

It is the second Continent 8 location in the city, responding to demand generated by the approval of the sports betting legislation in the state, and provides immediate availability to online gaming, sports betting and esports operators.

The company reported that it is to open a third centre in the city shortly to add still more secure data redundancy and disaster recovery.

The second location is the Ocean Resort Casino data centre which, with the soon-to-be-opened third location, connects with the Pennsylvania and Nevada locations and a direct link to Continent 8’s global network of over 30 data centres. The company is the only independent provider licensed by the state’s Division of Gaming Enforcement and can now support any online gaming operator seeking to enter New Jersey and the wider US market.

“The opening of the Ocean Resort on June 28 is a major development for the renewal of Atlantic City. Continent 8 is honoured to contribute to this development by partnering with Ocean Resort Casino,” said Michael Tobin, CEO of Continent 8. “The new data centre provides independent licensed infrastructure and cyber security services for online gaming operators, particularly sports betting providers. Utilising our connected and secured global network allows multi-state customer data to be consolidated in New Jersey, leading to reduced costs and increased service availability to users.”
