The market opening on the eve of the annual Thanksgiving holiday ties in with a busy round of NFL action.

Catena said it expects ‘healthy levels’ of player engagement after its pre-launch marketing campaigns and player offers by operators.

Affiliation operations, meanwhile, are being conducted through Catena’s network of national brands like LegalSportsReport.com and Lineups.com. The group is also operating via regional websites like PlayMaryland.com.

Ryan Harper, Catena’s vice president North America, said he hopes for a “strong result” from the opening weekend in Maryland to follow on from the Kansas launch in September.

“The timing is excellent, given that we are in week 12 of the NFL season and have the added bonus of the World Cup kicking off this week,” Harper added.

In the seven days leading up to launch in both states, Catena Media secured four times as many registrations in Maryland than in Kansas.
