The French national gambling authority ANJ has concluded a global review of the general conditions of use for online operators.

The ANJ stated that the review was “carried out with the aim of achieving a satisfactory level of legal compliance.”

The review led to a number of clauses being removed or amended due to their ambiguous nature or potential for abuse. These include clauses totally or partially excluding the liability of the operator, clauses hindering the exercise of legal action by consumers, and clauses restricting the means of proof available to consumers, among others.

This had led to several operators overhauling their terms and conditions.
