888 Holdings has launched its poker brand 888poker in the regulated Portuguese market.
The move will see 888poker as the second such brand to go live in the country, following in the footsteps of The Stars Group’s PokerStars.
It will operate through the website 888poker.pt.
888poker players in Portugal will be able to compete against counterparts in Spain through the new European interstate poker network.
888 Holdings’ head of B2C Guy Cohen said: "Portugal is a fantastic opportunity for 888 and we’re excited to be just the second poker operator to enter the market. Players love their poker and there is incredible scope to grow its popularity.
