Sheldon Adelson, CEO of Las Vegas Sands, has reiterated his opposition to online gaming in the US during a discussion at G2E Las Vegas this week, reports the Las Vegas Sun.

“When you’re on the internet, you cannot know your customer,” insisted Adelson.

When it was suggested to Adelson that thanks to online KYC protocols a case could be made for internet operators knowing more about their players than bricks-and-mortar establishments, the Sands CEO once again disagreed.

“I just don’t see that there is any compelling reason to put an electronic casino in 318 million hands,” continued Adelson. “That’s not a good reason - to say that they’re doing it anyway.”
