THE online gaming and land-based casino sectors may differ in maturity and experience, but advances in technology and gaming standards, as well as the value of cross-promotional activity is finally bringing the two closer together.

UK retail bookmakers were early adopters of online betting and this enabled them to claim the largest market share of online players.

Land-based casinos were much slower to move online and as such have always struggled to claim a place amongst the biggest internet operators.

Online operators now offer a huge choice of products and content; however, they also face their own operational struggles.
