The Brazilian Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) has opened a consultation looking to improve the way online gaming revenue is distributed.

The Ministry of Finance body responsible for regulating and overseeing the recently introduced legislation is welcoming suggestions for 45 days.
It wants to hear perspectives on how to make the distribution of tax revenue to private entities and civil society organisations – as well as entities within the national sports system – more “effective and efficient.”
Allocations to public entities, the third avenue of distribution according to the gaming law, are not included in the consultation.
The SPA’s consultation is part of its regulatory agenda as it looks to listen to industry stakeholders to improve the operating conditions in Brazil.
Brazilian authorities have faced criticism from gambling trade associations in recent weeks after a six per cent rise in the industry tax rate.
