As the iGaming Super Show breaks for lunch on its first full day, exhibitors are cautiously optimistic about the event and prospects for day two.

For some, the busy floor is not translating into footfall at the stand but that’s not to say that business is not getting done.

Comparisons with ICE – which was the last major show many of these exhibitors attended – are inevitable if unfair.

Chetu’s John Bailey, pictured top-left with colleague Loni Williams-Chow, said: “We’re growing our market in this part of the world and we think it’s going to be a good show for us. It’s started well and the traffic’s building, which is good.

“We like the city and we really like the venue. It’s nice that it’s a smaller venue [than ICE] and has smaller booths, generally. Fewer booths are dominating the show floor.”

Ana David, sales and marketing consultant for EveryMatrix, also feels the event is going well: “It’s been really good so far and we’ve seen a lot of affiliate traffic in this area.

“From an operator point of view it hasn’t been as busy yet,” said David. “But we think the venue is amazing and that Amsterdam is a great choice for the event.”

Markku Mehtälä, CEO of Meontrust/MePIN (pictured above, at the MePIN stand), is impressed by the event but hoping to see more visitors: “It’s been a bit quieter than we expected. We have a lot of appointments for tomorrow, so we were hoping that there would be more casual visitors today. Maybe our location is not so great.

“Amsterdam itself is great, however. It’s central Europe and easy to get to from the UK and Germany and elsewhere. And Amsterdam is a fun city, for sure.”
