Sportradar Integrity Services and the Biathlon Integrity Unit have entered into a bet monitoring agreement.
The multi-year agreement will see Sportradar monitor all International Biathlon Union events including the IBU World Championships and IBU World Cups.
Sportradar will use its Universal Fraud Detection System and any suspicious matches detected will be passed on to the BIU for further investigation.
Sportradar Integrity Services managing director, Andreas Krannich, said: “Interest in biathlon competitions is increasing across global betting markets. It is imperative that appropriate steps are taken to mitigate any integrity-related issues that may arise across IBU’s competitions.”
Greg McKenna, head of the BIU, added UFDS “will enable us to implement one of the strongest integrity provisions and puts us in the great position over the coming years to ensure fair competition across all our events.”
