Pools and tote betting service provider Sportech saw profits dip slightly in the six months to June 30.

The company recorded revenues of £57.7m for the period, up from £57.4m a year earlier. EBITDA improved slightly from £12.4m to £12.6m

Profit before tax was £3.2m, however, compared with £3.7m in the first half of 2011. This, the company said, was due to higher exceptional costs. Over 30 per cent of its profits now come from Sportech’s North American gaming business.

Chief executive Ian Penrose said the company was pleased to have secured larger and improved banking arrangements to facilitate business development and growth initiatives.

“Despite the challenging global economic conditions, trading remains in line with management expectations for the full year and we look forward to the future with confidence," he said.
