Racingworld Technology has been re-named 123gaming to mark the successful growth of its 123racing.com handicapping game in the US while reflecting the company's strategy of extending its range of online skill-based games.

Originally a freeplay game, 123racing.com was quickly taken up as a marketing tool by racetracks in the US and Canada. In October 2009, 123racing was launched in partnership with a major tote operator as a real-money ‘pick six’-style wager at a series of US race tracks and off-track betting venues. 123gaming is planning to make the 123racing wager available online in the US and UK later this year.

Robert Earle, CEO of UK-based 123gaming, said: "The success of our freeplay game certainly helped gain the necessary partnerships and approvals in the US to go live with a new pari-mutuel wager. The Survival handicapping contests we operate for New Jersey are among the most popular in North America."

123gaming is planning to launch its 123racing wagering product in partnership with its US-based partner in the UK and Europe, creating larger pools by co-mingling. The potential application for the technology into sports and other activities is a key focus for 123gaming over the next few years. The company has rights to several associated domain names and is looking at ways to achieve maximum growth.

Earle added: "After growing this business steadily over four years, we’re now ready to apply the 123 formula using a range of interactive platforms including online, social networking and mobile."
