Push Gaming has released the Retro Tapes slot, which reintroduces the Cluster Link mechanic.

Push Gaming, Retro Tapes

The mechanic comes back in after its use in the developer’s recent slot, Jammin’ Jars, from which the soundtrack and colours have also been adapted to make Retro Tapes.

Set across a 6x9 reel configuration, symbols include coloured cassettes that must form adjacent clusters of five or more to trigger a win.

These winning symbols are then removed from play, with new ones tumbling from the top of the gameboard to create additional win chances.

Instant prize symbols also feature and these are awarded once also formed into a cluster of five or more. They have values ranging rom 1x to 1,000x. Furthermore, wild tape symbols substitute all others in the game, presenting more win opportunities.

James Marshall, CEO at Push Gaming said: “Retro Tapes draws inspiration from our incredibly popular Jammin’ Jars series and our innovative Cluster Links mechanic, with wild multipliers increasing wins gained from clusters.”

Wild tape symbols land with a 1x multiplier that increases by 1x for each win they are part of. These can be further boosted by a wild multiplier, while a magnet symbol can gather all instances of one symbol into a cluster.

A win of 10,000x a player’s bet is the maximum prize on offer and can be won in Retro Tapes’ free spins round, entered by landing three wild tapes. All wilds and instant cash prizes are held in place, with blank spaces replacing regular symbols. During each spin either instant cash prizes, wild tapes, wild multipliers, magnet symbols or extra spin symbols can be landed in these empty spaces to boost win potential up to the maximum of 10,000x.
