Playtech has announced significant casino and poker launches in the newly-regulated Spanish market.
Playtech licensees operating under Spanish regulation include a combination of existing licensees, as well as local gaming and media companies aiming to leverage their market position and recognised brands that appeal to local players.
Playtech casino was ready for the Spanish market prior to the issue of online gaming licences by the Spanish government on June 1, ensuring Playtech licensees were among the first to launch in Spain. Licensees, including Bet365 casino, Bet 365 poker, William Hill casino and Poker 770, have already begun welcoming players to their fully customised Playtech casino and poker rooms.
Further licensees are due to launch Spanish-specific casino and poker rooms in the coming weeks.
The Playtech casino offering includes a unique, Spanish-specific live casino option, provided from a local licensed land-based casino located within Spain.
A range of additional Playtech products will soon be launched in the country, including TV games and bingo. Casino games, poker, bingo, TV and live casino games will also be available on mobile phones and tablets.
Playtech's casino has been adapted to ensure it fully complies with Spanish regulation, with all permitted blackjack and roulette games available as well as a range of complementary games. The poker rooms are part of Playtech's new poker network, iPokerSpain.es, the first multiple-licensee poker network to launch under Spanish regulation.
"The Spanish market is important to Playtech and a benchmark within the European regulated environment,” said Mor Weizer, Playtech's chief executive. “We are confident that our innovative and fully-compliant casino and poker products will set the standard for others to follow in Spain."
