Ontario’s regulated igaming market finished the 2023-24 financial year with revenue of CA$2.4bn, an uplift of 72 per cent from 2022-23.

The body which oversees the Canadian province’s market, iGaming Ontario, said the full-year revenue was helped by Q4 revenue of $690m.

Q4 wagers reached $17.8bn, with the 2023-24 financial year ending at $63bn, a 78 per cent increase year-on-year, excluding promotional wagers.

“With $63bn in wagering and $2.4bn in gaming revenue, the second year of Ontario’s igaming market is more than 70 per cent bigger than the first,” said iGaming Ontario executive director Martha Otton.

“As the market matures into its third year, I look forward to building on this foundation of success with operators and other partners as they invest in Ontario so that Ontarians can continue to play with confidence.”

IGaming Ontario said total online casino stakes hit $51.7bn in 2023-24, with the beting figure at $9.7bn and P2P poker adding a further $1.6bn in wagers.

Q4 casino gaming revenue was $510m, with the total revenue for this segment across the year $1.8bn.
