The States of Jersey, the government of the Channel Island, formally ratified its new gambling law yesterday, which sets up the island as a new online gaming jurisdiction.
The bill was passed by a majority of 36 votes to only two. It now goes to the Queen’s Privy Council in London for ratification.
Meanwhile, the island’s new Gambling Commission is ready to take applications for licences to host internet gambling companies. See the Jersey Special Issue of iNTERGAMINGi, published this month.
