German online gambling provider for state-licensed lotteries, Zeal Network, has reported an increase in registered customers in its home country in the first half of 2020.

Supported by a strong EuroJackpot development, the company achieved billings of €314.4m, up from €179.4m over the similar half of 2019.

This, said the company, had been driven by the inclusion of its Lotto24 with growth of around 75 per cent. The German market contributed €313.8m. It notes that the Spanish ONCE business is not included for contractual reasons.

“Due to the expected revenue dis-synergies in connection with the business model change revenue decreased by a preliminary 44 per cent to €43.3m (2019: €77.5m.).

"Similar to billings, revenue in the first half of 2019 still included the secondary lottery business but not Lotto24's online lottery brokerage business up to May 14, 2019. Revenue in the Germany segment amounted to preliminary €39m in the first half of 2020.”
