This year’s event, held at Fira de Barcelona from Tuesday to Thursday this week, was another success, with exhibitors citing visitor quality if not quantity. The fact that attendees have to pay a fairly high entrance fee was proof for most that those coming through the doors were serious industry people rather than tyre kickers.

Julian Graves, a director of organiser Clarion Events, told iNTERGAMINGi that the policy of moving the show around to regulatory hotspots had run its course. “Everyone seems happy to see the event back in Barcelona, so we will probably keep it here now,” he said. Next year’s show is definitely scheduled for the same venue.

There was once again a highly topical range of subjects covered by the accompanying conference. As for the trade show itself, it was notable for the presence of land-based manufacturing giants, including WMS, Bally, IGT and SHFL (formerly Shuffle Master), who are now focusing on the online space.
