iNTERGAMINGi speaks with William Scott, GTECH G2 vice president, about new deals and potential markets

William Scott William Scott

What do the latest deals relating to BCLC and Manitoba Lotteries, as well as multiple new partnerships in Spain, mean for GTECH G2?

AT GTECH G2 and Spielo International we are committed to working in regulated or newly regulated gaming markets. Our success in Spain is testament to the great reputation we have as a brand and the strength of our product offering. Within the Spanish market we are working with operators from the land-based gaming world and our existing clients. We see it as a huge opportunity.

We have been in Canada for many years and launched the Canadian Poker Network in 2010. It has been extremely successful, with one of the highest Bad Beat Jackpots in the world last year. We have seen a large number of first time players on the network as well as players who are migrating from the currently illegal networks. The CPN is the first and only legal poker network in North America – this represents a huge achievement and is something we are immensely proud to have been a part of. For any poker network, the most important factor in its success is liquidity. The addition of Manitoba Lotteries will bring increased liquidity and see the growth of the CPN, which for us remains a strategic priority.

Any new partnership or product launch is exciting for us and represents our continued commitment to our customers and investment in our products.

Which markets are key for the company right now?

The US is one of our strategic priorities for the business and we are extremely well placed to help operators from the land-based world go online when legislation allows.

We understand that i-gaming is a complex business with far more involved behind the scenes of a successful operation than many realise. It is for this reason that we launched our educational webinar programme in conjunction with industry players including H2 Gambling Capital, Income Access and Jack Media. We are also committed to our development in Spain and Denmark, where we recently went live with five new partners. The growth of the business in regulated gaming markets remains a priority.
