BetMGM has revealed a 26 per cent year-on-year increase in NFL betting for the season so far.

The operator, jointly owned by MGM Resorts International and Entain, said the teams with the highest sports betting handle to win the Super Bowl are the San Francisco 49ers (13.7 per cent), the Buffalo Bills (9.8 per cent) and the Kansas City Chiefs (9.4 per cent).

The games that have pulled in the most bets so far include Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Chargers.

BetMGM trading manager Christian Cipollini said: “It has been a great NFL season so far at BetMGM.

“Favourable outcomes in primetime games and unders hitting at a high rate are the main factors in making this season a success for the sportsbook.”

BetMGM added that player prop bets are continuing to increase in popularity, with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce the most popular pick for anytime touchdown scorer for the first nine weeks of the NFL season.
