The UK Gambling Commission has brought in specialists, including a former William Hill executive, to help strengthen its relationships with other regulators and law enforcement agencies.
Working to developing in-house expertise, Andrew Chapple, a former executive at William Hill and the Tote, has joined to provide specialist support on a range of projects including the commission’s money laundering compliance regime.
Also joining is Detective Constable Mark Stanford on a two-year secondment from the Metropolitan Police, who will be working closely with the sports betting intelligence unit and enforcement team, as well as Charlotte Meller, a specialist in shared regulation, to support the establishment of the Local Authority Liaison Unit.
Director of regulation Nick Tofiluk said: “Their arrival demonstrates our ongoing commitment to strengthen relationships with other regulators and agencies while at the same time developing the specialist knowledge within the commission.”
