Following a tender process, GTECH has been selected by OPAP as its strategic partner for online betting operations in Greece.
The GTECH proposal includes the provision of the company’s sports betting and player account management system.
Walter Bugno, CEO of GTECH International, said: “This decision is a validation of the successful ongoing performance and cross-channel capabilities of GTECH’s online portfolio, which we are providing to World Lottery Association customers, including the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, Norsk Tipping in Norway and Veikkaus in Finland.”
“This solution will ensure that OPAP has the flexibility and technological innovation it needs to provide its players with a convenient, easy-to-use web- and mobile-based program, enabling live betting.
“This will fulfil OPAP’s online betting strategy by reliably driving programme growth as technology and player preferences evolve,” continued Bugno.
“In addition, the open architecture of the GTECH player account management system will enable OPAP to implement its preferred strategy for a single view of the player through the creation of a single player account across multiple games and gaming channels.”
