French regulatory authority ARJEL has approved Unibet's applications for sports betting, horse race betting and poker licences.
The company applied for the licence in May this year and has stressed in the past that under the restrictive terms of the French licence, it will be hard for any operator to make a reasonable return.
"That we now received these licences is a first step. To receive a significant return on the French market, the terms need to be more favourable. It is our expectations that this will happen in the longer term," commented Henrik Tjärnström, CEO Unibet.
