Fresh gambling operator data from the UK Gambling Commission has revealed an increase in the market’s total online gross gambling yield.

Online GGY for Q3 2023-24, covering October to December, rose four per cent year-on-year to £1.3bn.

The overall number of total bets/spins reached a new peak of 24 billion, rising nine per cent year-on-year.

In the land-based sector, GGY increased 0.5 per cent to £563m in Q3, while the total number of bets and spins decreased by four per cent to 3.3 billion.

The Gambling Commission also revealed that real event betting GGY increased by five per cent year-on-year to £468m, but total bets and actives for the vertical both decreased by three per cent.

Slots GGY jumped by six per cent to £618m, with the number of spins increasing by 11 per cent.

The number of online slot sessions lasting longer than an hour increased by three per cent year-on-year to 9.8 million.

The average monthly active accounts in Q3 climbed eight per cent to four million per month.
