German betting and gaming operator Tipico has launched a Trusted Partner initiative as it looks to do its bit to tackle the country’s black market.

The title will be given to igaming developers who voluntarily commit to not supply companies operating illegal gambling websites in Germany.
Tipico said the move sends a “strong signal for integrity, responsibility, and consumer protection.”
Games Global, Apparat Gaming, Merkur and Zeal Instant Games have already committed to the scheme.
Christian Heins, director of igaming at Tipico, said: “We are very pleased that several major games manufacturers have fulfilled the requirements as Trusted Partner at the start of our quality initiative already.
“Combatting illegal offerings is essential for the successful channelisation into the legal and safe market, and we are convinced that this goal can only be achieved in the long term through a joint effort by all stakeholders.”
Tipico said its marketing activity on television digital platforms and CRM campaigns will only be focused on Trusted Partner suppliers in return for their commitment to the scheme.
The operator said it plans to open the initiative up to payment service providers and media partners in the future.
