The UK Gambling Commission said the probe, supported by West Midlands Police, saw the arrest of a 33-year-old man, a 54-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man in Birmingham.

All three are alleged to have committed offences under section 42 of the Gambling Act 2005, which relates to cheating at gambling.

“The investigation was launched following reports of suspicious betting activity linked to a boxing match held last year,” the Gambling Commission said.

“The Commission will not be commenting further at this time.”

The 33-year-old and 54-year-old were arrested in Kings Norton, while the 23-year-old was arrested in Longbridge.
