Swedish online gaming operator XC Gaming Sweden Ltd has been given a warning and penalty fee by the regulator, Spelinspektionen.
It relates to unauthorised bonus offers, said the regulator. Under Swedish law, licence-holders may only offer a bonus at the first gaming opportunity. The inspectorate found that XC had violated the legislation by offering bonuses on repeated occasions. It also considered that the company, by handing out gifts to a player who had been identified by the company as vulnerable, has also breached its duty of care in relation to the player.
The inspectorate has issued a warning and a penalty fee of SEK5m (€489,000) to XC.
