The Swedish gambling regulator says it has cracked down on influencers using Twitch to promote unregulated gambling content.

Spelinspektionen said influencers involved in its investigation have stopped marketing such content.
“This spring, Spelinspektionen launched an investigation into influencers who used their online platforms to promote illegal gambling,” the regulator said.
“Such marketing is considered to be the promotion of unauthorized gambling operations when directed at Swedish consumers, which is prohibited under the Swedish Gambling Act.
“The authority will continue to monitor influencers and other actors involved in or promoting unauthorised gambling in accordance with the Gambling Act.”
