Star World, which operates the Mr Ringo online casino, has had its gaming licence revoked by the Malta Gaming Authority.
The cancellation of authorisation for Star World Limited is effective immediately and means the company is no longer authorised to carry out any gaming operations, register new players or accept new customer deposits.
Star World is still required to retain and provide access to all registered players to their player accounts and refund all funds standing to the credit of players in line with the applicable law.
The decision, subject to appeal, arrives after what the MGA state is a breach of rules relating to a failure to effect payments due to the regulator and players and to ensure the integrity and availability of essential regulatory data.
