Sportradar, a leading supplier of sports and betting-related data, has extended the data partnership between its subsidiary SportStat and World Snooker Ltd for a further five years.

Having launched a joint initiative in 2010, SportStat and World Snooker will continue to work together and develop their data services across a number of platforms until 2018.

Barry Hearn, chairman of World Snooker, said: “World Snooker has recognised the importance of delivering its own official data across a variety of media. The live scoring site attracted 8.5 million visitors in 2012 and with over 10 million forecast for 2013 here it is clear that the sport has become truly global.

“We are excited that their new partnership will enable even more exciting live betting and media products to enter the market,” added Hearn.

Carsten Koerl, group chief executive officer at Sportradar, said: “We look forward to a long and rewarding partnership as we are convinced that together we can shape future developments and play an active part in the creation of an even more exciting product portfolio for the world of snooker.”
