More than 44,000 players across Spain, France and Portugal took part in the 2019 edition of the PokerStars Trio Series, with Spain’s players taking the crown for the most event wins overall.
The series has grown in scale since its debut last year, with more than double the events and €2m more in advertised guarantees. The €7m guarantee across the 180-event schedule was surpassed by more than €2.2m.
French players accounted for the majority of the field across the series, followed by Spain and Portugal. French players also topped the table for the most residents participating in the Main Event.
Severin Rasset, director of poker innovation and operations at The Stars Group, said: “This series is special. It was the first tournament series we ran for the combined French, Spanish, and Portuguese player base so it’s fantastic to see that it has grown and that players old and new joined in. We’re very happy with the results.”
