The next generation of online casino players will expect social networking to be part of casino, according to head of casino at Microgaming, Mike Hebden.
"Social networking has been a massive growth area in recent years," said Hebden when talking to iNTERGAMINGi at EGR Live in London last week. "The next generation will expect and want social networking to be part of casino," he added.
Launched at the end of 2009, Microgaming showcased its multi-player slot game Wheel of Wealth at EGR Live, which incorporates the land-based casino experience where players can see and observe other players’ games. A shared bonus round where players are playing against the house and a chat feature also give the game a community feel, an aspect of social networking sites.
