JT has become the only Channel Island data centre provider to achieve the coveted SOC quality certification.
Becoming SOC (Service Organisation Certification) certified is a rigorous, independent process, which inspects the full detail of a company’s controls, processes and procedures in a wide range of business critical areas from HR to security, financial management and operations.
After a year’s work, JT has now achieved this standard for its three data centres in Guernsey and Jersey. The SOC certification, which is recognised across the world, is there to independently check that a company not only has the right procedures in place, but that it follows those procedures properly.
Paul Taylor, MD of JT’s Global Enterprise Business Unit said: “We are delighted to become the first, and only, Channel Island data centre provider to achieve this level of independent certification and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my team for the very hard work they have put in over the last year to make sure we have achieved it. It is a tough and rigorous process, and it was gratifying to achieve it with no areas of improvement at all.”
The certification comes just a few months after JT announced plans to build a new state-of-the-art £7m data centre on its site at Five Oaks in St Saviour in order to cater for the growing demand in its data hosting services.
