The Sanctions Committee in France has issued warnings to seven operators for exceeding the return-to-player rate limit after an investigation by the country's regulator.

L'Autorité Nationale des Jeux noted on its website the amended law of May 2010 and a November 2020 decree prohibit online sports betting operators from redistributing to players more than 85 per cent of the stakes placed with them.
It said the limit aims to curb problem gambling, as well as prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
The ANJ said that throughout 2021, seven operators exceeded this rate and it therefore decided to open proceedings against them.
As reported by the ANJ, the Sanctions Committee - which is independent of the ANJ and deals with operator malpractice - states in its decisions that going over the RTP limit constitutes a breach of operators’ obligations and decided to issue seven warnings to the operators in question.
