Meanwhile, the Empire State produced a second-best handle in its mobile sports betting history, with the March figure of over $1.785bn coming close to January’s $1.788bn record.

FanDuel was one operator which enjoyed a surge in its numbers, amid the NCAA March Madness across the US last month.

FanDuel’s handle rose to $740.1m from $591.m in February, with revenue reaching $79.6m after totalling $53.5m in the second month of the year.

However, PointsBet’s efforts declined slightly, with handle dropping to $28.9m and revenue sliding to $1.6m from $1.9m in February.
