Online sports betting operator Interwetten saw revenue rise 23 per cent to €16.9m in the third quarter of 2016.

Sports betting revenue was up nine per cent compared to the previous year, while revenue from casino and games rose by 42 per cent between July and September.
Commenting on progress for the year to date, Interwetten board spokesman Werner Becher, said: “Based on the Q3 key performance indicators, it is very likely that we will meet our internal target and break through the €1bn turnover threshold.”
Profit (EBITDA) was up 18 per cent to €11.1m in the first three quarters of 2016, while net profit increased by 18 per cent to €9.6m.
Becher continued: “As with previous years, 2016 will go down as the most successful year in the company’s history. It is particularly satisfying to see that we managed to sustain the verve created by Euro 2016 and carry it forward into new football season.”
