The Division of Gaming Enforcement for the US state of new Jersey has renewed its approval for Amaya to operate the PokerStars and Full Tilt brands in the state’s regulated real-money online gaming market.

Amaya first received approval to operate PokerStars and Full Tilt in New Jersey in September. The PokerStars NJ website went live in the state on March 21.

“While it's very early, we're extremely pleased with the initial launch of PokerStars in New Jersey and the positive working relationship that Amaya has with the DGE,” said Amaya Interim CEO Rafi Ashkenazi.

“I'm very proud of our employees, including those we have hired in New Jersey, who have worked diligently to prepare for the launch of a robust, stable platform backed by great customer service."

Like the initial approval granted on September 30, the renewal is for an additional term of six months, subject to further renewals.

The news will come as welcome relief to Amaya after charges from the Canadian securities authority that CEO David Baazov – who has since taken a temporary leave of absence - was involved in insider trading during the company’s acquisition of Oldford Group, which completed in 2014.
