A bill has been brought before the Pennsylvania state legislature that would allow existing gambling facilities in the state to offer a wide array of casino games, including poker. Technology firms outside Pennsylvania could partner with land-based businesses in the state.

The bill was introduced last week, led by state representative Tina Davis, and was referred to the committee on Gaming Oversight.

House bill 1235 would establish a tax rate of 28 per cent in the state which now has the second most lucrative casino market in the US behind Nevada, having recently overtaken New Jersey.
