Swedish gambling turnover in Q2 this year was 2.8 per cent up year-on-year at SEK6.9bn (£507.2m).

The latest figure, up from SEK6.7bn (£493.5m), is also an improvement from Q1’s SEK6.67bn (£490.9m).

Commercial online gambling accounted for 66.3 per cent of the total turnover at SEK4.6bn (£336.2m), which the gambling regulator Spelinspektionen said climbed 9.2 per cent year-on-year from SEK 4.2bn (£307.9m) in Q2 last year.

As with total turnover, there was also an increase in commercial online gambling turnover quarter-on-quarter, up 6.6 per cent from Q1’s SEK4.3bn (£315.5m).

State lottery and slot games accounted for the next highest portion of turnover in Q2 at SEK1.3bn (£95m). However, turnover here declined 7.5 per cent year-on-year from Q2 2023’s SEK1.4bn (£102.7m) and by five per cent from Q1 2024’s SEK1.36bn (£100m).
