The third quarter of Germany’s new regulated online gambling saw the country take €596m in lottery and gambling taxes.
The figure was a 16 percent rise on the same period of last year.
Germany’s fresh regulations to cover online gambling only came into effect in July of last year. They covered all forms of online gambling, including sports betting.
The 16 German states take a 5.3 per cent tax on turnover from gaming. Germany has so far issued 34 licences for sports betting.
