Another slew of online gaming operators have received their full licences in Brazil from the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA).

The Ministry of Finance division set up to oversee the recently introduced regulations has approved, among others, Kaizen Gaming brand Betano.

Bet365 and Novibet, which Allwyn has acquired a majority stake in, were also approved by the SPA.

Joining them were Aposta Ganha and Stake, with the latter upgrading to a full licence after receiving provisional approval when the regulations went live on January 1 this year.

Stake’s country manager in Brazil, Thomas Carvalhaes, said: “It is with immense pride, directly from the airport of Doha, Qatar, on my way to Australia, that I announce that Stake is officially a licensed brand and fully compliant with the guidelines of the regulation of the bets market in Brazil.

“The last few months have been of intense work, and although this result was expected, bringing a global giant in the betting sector to Brazil required a great effort from our local team.”

Aposta Ganha’s chief commercial officer, Hugo Baungartner, added: “Huge news for Grupo Aposta Ganha as the company secured its fixed-odds betting licence in Brazil.

“Granted by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance, the licence includes sports-themed and online gaming, reinforcing our commitment to a fully regulated and responsible betting market.

“Our license runs until December 31, 2029. Big things ahead!”

The latest licence approvals means there are now 35 full betting licensees covering 173 brands.
