Western Lotto, the operator of Nigeria’s mobile-first lottery company, has extended its deal with lottery provider Lot.to.
Over 20,000 players signed up to Western Lotto’s offer in the first four months and the organisation now plans to bring lotto games to other African countries.
With almost 200 million people and a youthful population (70 per cent of Nigerians are under 35), Western Lotto attracted new players with a number of brand ambassadors, including Nigerian musicians Tuface and Olamide and actor Ramsey Nuoah.
“We looked at many prospective B2B lottery providers to help bring the world’s richest lotteries to Nigeria and Lot.to stood out, both in terms of their technology and the operational know-how they possess as a team,” said Yomi Ogunfowora, managing director of Western Lotto.
“Lots of people say that Africa has potential but the truth is that Africa is here right now,” said Rob Lawson, head of customer success for the company. “The demand for high quality lottery and gaming content has never been higher.”
