Sports betting revenue in New York rebounded from a notable low in August to set a new record of US$165.6m in September.

Revenue declined for the third month in a row in August to below $100m for only the third time since the state legalised sports wagering.

However, with a handle of $1.76bn – helped no doubt by the return of the NFL – New York set a new record for revenue in September.

The $165.6m record beats the previous highest monthly revenue in the Empire State of $162.8m, posted in March this year.

FanDuel was the top-performing operator in September with revenue of $76.9m, above DraftKings which generated $61.4m in revenue.

Although, DraftKings’ handle of $710.5m was higher than FanDuel’s $682.5m.
