A bill has been introduced to create a task force to study mobile sports betting in New York, with recommendations due to be reported by next March.
The 13-member task force would comprise individuals from the state gaming commission, the lottery, senate and assembly.
The task force would hold at least four public hearings and would be responsible for determining whether state law allows mobile betting, how it would cannibalise the state’s gaming industry and lottery and whether it would cost future jobs.
The bill was referred to the racing and wagering committee.
