Imagine Live’s former global CEO Matthew Charlesworth has returned to the live casino company as its chief development officer.

Charlesworth was replaced as chief executive in January 2025 by Martin Martirosyan.

Writing on LinkedIn, Charlesworth said he left after beginning to struggle with his schedule, which was split between three weeks on-site and three weeks remote.

However, he kept in touch with Martirosyan, who has built the company’s live casino operations up. Imagine Live now has over 100 tables and over 1,000 staff – and is planning to launch a live casino studio in Bucharest, Romania.

Charlesworth said his chief development officer role “brings me back full-time to the product I love and believe, in as well as the people I love working with, but without the day-to-day responsibility of overseeing a rapidly expanding operation with extremely aggressive future plans.”

“So, just a few more airport lounges for me over the coming months but I’m looking forward to reconnecting with friends, partners and future collaborators over the coming months,” he added.

Charlesworth has over 20 years’ experience in the gaming industry, taking in roles such as live casino manager at Paddy Power Betfair and head of live casino at Entain.
