Playtech has announced that John Jackson has been appointed as its senior independent director, following on from the decision of Andrew Thomas not to seek re-election at the firm’s AGM this week.

The gaming firm stated that its nomination committee identified Jackson as the best candidate, boasting as he does 30 years of PLC experience and with a status as the longest serving non-executive director on the Playtech board.

Playtech is currently on the hunt for a new chairman, with Alan Jackson set to step down.

Playtech stated: “John's experience and knowledge of Playtech will provide important continuity and stability as the company conducts the search for a new chairman and following the recent appointment of four non-executive directors.”
