The first Network Management Board meeting for the Microgaming Poker Network took place on November 3-4 in London.

The NMB is a body comprised of representatives from Microgaming and the primary operators on the MPN. An independent chairman presides over the meetings and industry experts consult to the NMB on ecology, player perspective and the long-term revenue potential of projects.

The topics and decisions from the board meetings are private, but it should be noted that after two days of discussion and voting, the NMB and all its functions and responsibilities are fully formed, the development roadmap is agreed, changes to the network marketing rules are under way and all operators and consultants believe it was highly successful.

The NMB is one part of a much larger project to transform the Microgaming Poker Network into a network which is entirely composed of operators that contribute to the success of one another and to the network as a whole.

This project has been running for two years and other components include optimisation of the network marketing rules, strict enforcement of those rules, education of operators on network ecology, removal of operators that do not subscribe to the vision of the project, the introduction of a formula that allocates greater value to recreational players and the development of new features for beginner and recreational players.

The results of the project are already tangible, with player values increasing by 15 per cent in 2011 alone.
